Tale of Two Covers: The Psychopath Test

The Psychopath Test_2

Today, we’re going to compare the covers of The Psychopath Test for review.

First we have a cover I would say is in the 60’s, Saul Bass style of Illustration. It is playful and I think from the title treatment, trying to play off of the unsuccessful movie, The Men Who Stare at Goats. I like that the frame s askew, it only adds to the screen-print quality of the cover.

Next, we have the split cover. It illustrates the concept of a personality divergence, the covers are different in tone, and color, and even the animal art is illustrative, a rabbit being replaced, or pursued, by the predatory leopard, in this case the psychopathic personality.
